Delicious and easyMar 15, 2010
By Secondstar I love potato leek soup, and when I saw this mix I bought it on a whim. This soup far exceeded my expectations. The spices were perfect, as soon as I opened the package I could smell the quality. The soup was really easy to make, just add chicken stock and some sort of cream. I used half and half, but next time I'm going try a low fat milk. I would recommend adding the suggested potatoes for a heartier soup. Remember to salt and pepper to taste before serving.
Serve with crusty bread and a green salad for a gourmet meal!
very yummy but wow gassyNov 21, 2011
By IA Seattle This soup is good, not sure what the other post had an issue with, it's actually a thick soupd, more thick than thin. You have to use 1 in a half pounds of potato and 6 cups of chicken broth. It;s actually too think but in the end when you add 1 cup of half and half it thins a bit. it's a really good tasting soup but did make me and hubby gassy so we wont be making it again. The gas is terriable.
Tastes TerribleNov 16, 2011
By MISSY This Potato Leek Soup mix tastes terrible. I followed the instructions exactly adding my own potatoes, chicken stock and cream and the soup was still thin, watery and funny tasting. There is something in the mix that has the taste of dirt. It might be the too many dried green vegetables? and/or herbs? that bring this bad taste that also smothers the taste of the potato and leeks. This is too terrible to even give away so I will have to throw the other 3 packages away. I wish there was a way to order samples of food items here so I don't have to keep throwing money in the garbage!
