This is a delightful blend of ingredients and spices with surprisingly no salt added. Easy and quick to make and simply delicious. Having tried other soup blends that are insanely salty, it was a pleasant surprise to find this very flavorful blend had no salt added.

Greatest soups ever made. So hearty and filling and perfect as a comfort food. All you need is this soup and nothing else for dinner. Just really worth it.

I just made a big pot of this soup yesterday. I got 10 servings of more than 12 oz. each, probably because the zucchini I added were on the large side. Next time I'll use spinach or kale, instead. I used mild Italian chicken sausage from the butcher case but next time I'll try the spicier turkey Italian bulk sausage made in another store. (You'll want to remove the casings from the sausage.) Try the other varieties. Many of the soups can be cooked in a Slow Cooker (crock pot) all day long. This sausage and lentil soup cooks in such a short time, it's not worth it. All of the Frontier Soups have little to no salt and they're terrific. Their 11-Bean Minnesota Heartland Soup is to die for. we really liked this one. some of the frontier soup's seasoning packets taste a little odd to me, but not this one. This tastes so very natural. Takes very few extra ingredients. DON'T forget the red cooking wine, though. really makes it. Also, i found that my lentils cooked a lot sooner than they said on the package. Instead of 1.5 hours, it took only about 1 hour from start to finish.
