The tiny germ holds both the secret and the promise of new life. When wheat sprouts (germinates), the new wheat plant emerges from the germ and is nourished by wheat germ's abundant supply of nutrients. But wheat germ is extremely perishable after the protective layers of bran are broken in milling. Exposure to oxygen can quickly damage the delicate oil and vitamins in wheat germ. At Fearn our exclusive Naturfresh package was developed to protect wheat germ after milling the same way nature's bran layers protect it before milling. We flush pure nitrogen (the inactive part of the air we breathe) through the germ as our special Naturfresh bag is formed around it. Rancidity causing oxygen is kept outside the bag. We hope you enjoy the fresh nutty taste of our Naturfresh Raw Wheat Germ. No solvents used. Some wheat germ is processed with solvents such as hexane to strip the perishable oil and valuable vitamin E from the germ. The resulting defatted wheat germ is added by some companies to their products and labeled as wheat germ. If a product you use is made with wheat germ, but doesn't list the vitamin E content, we suggest that you ask the manufacturer to explain. Made in USA. | | | Features: | |

Keep In The Freezer!Feb 10, 2010

I've gone through quite a lot of this wheat germ in my soups, oatmeal, and breads. It has been a nice addition to my diet and I will continue to purchase this product. I did have a few bags go rancid (within a few days of opening) when stored in the refrigerator. I now keep all opened bags in the freezer and I've had no further problems.

ExcellentJul 23, 2008
By Lynnette Hafken Seems very fresh. I have been adding it to all of my baked goods. My kids don't even notice it, but I can tell there is a richer, more pleasant taste to my breads.

Fearn employed the most healthful way of producing this health benefit called wheat germ. I am very happy and my money is very well spent. Thanks Fearn.

Tasty And Good For UsAug 16, 2009
By Weyman Swagger Wheat germ doesn't need any endosements for its health benefits: they are well known. I use the stuff because it tastes good, adding it to some bread and biscuit doughs and to cereals. This wheat germ from NatureFresh is tasty and moderately priced. It's worth you giving it a try.

"big-box-o'-health"Nov 05, 2010
By Nom de plume I like wheat germ, don't get me wrong, but this is A LOT of wheat germ. Had to make space in the freezer for all the bags. (It will spoil in the fridge.) Good thing the packages are soft and can be crammed in tight. Now I have wheat germ for a looong time--at 2 teaspoons per day, I reckon I'm good for a year or so. Great deal, though : )
