5Great right out of the canSep 24, 2007
By Once in a while
This 100% pure organic sweet potato puree is slightly tart, so it can be used in many recipes--like sweet potato pie or casseroles--without adding lemon juice.

For a fast side dish, dip a couple of tablespoons of puree straight from the can, stir in a little of your favorite sweetener and spice and serve.

Cover tightly before refrigerating the leftovers--air causes the puree to discolor.

Overall it's a tasty and very handy way to add a nutritious super vegetable to your meals, plus it works great in classic sweet potato recipes.

3Different than I expectedOct 20, 2008
By M. poulos
I purchased this product for two reasons. First, that the product is organic. Second, that sweet potatoes were out of season. So, for those reasons, this is a great product. However, I felt the puree was really liquidy. I assumed it would be more like pumpkin puree. Having a soft, solid texture. Also, it has a little twang after-taste. I felt the butternut squash puree had a similar after-taste. I was not familar with this type of puree product. I had always used Libby's canned pumpkin puree or homemade puree. So, it is possible it was simply my expections due to product comparison. It did make excellent sweet potato pies, but I was not happy with the other recipes.

5Fantastic and convenientMar 29, 2010

I started out buying this to use in my homemade dog food, but I wound up using it for all sorts of stuff! Pies, casseroles, and I've used it in place of pumpkin and/or oil in baked goods to add a little extra nutritional value. I'm confused about some of the other poor reviews, I thought the texture was great as was the flavor, and yes a couple of cans were dented slightly but none so severely that it was a problem.

5Great for so many things!Mar 28, 2012
By Lynda Pickhardt "bibliolove"
I purchased a case of this sweet potato puree last year and I'm ready to order another case today.

I have used this in place of pumpkin for a Vegan Impossible Pie recipe and my hubby, my mother and myself are hooked.

I have used the puree in soups and muffins and as a side dish.

I hope the quality of the next shipment is just as good.

One thing I need comment on is this: I have ordered lots of cases of foodstuffs thru Amazon and I have had many dented cans and not little dents, either. I think the Amazon people need to look into how their shipping people are mishandling the goods!!!

1Tastes badJun 15, 2011
By Dr. Stephen N. Resnick
I was expecting this product to taste like sweet potatoes, but it had a slightly bitter taste not at all like a sweet potato. I was happy that I didn't get sick, but will return the unopened cans.
