1**All 12 cans severely dented**Jul 20, 2010
One star was given because of the condition of the cans. Even though there were several reviews about dented cans, I decided to order this mix because I love pumpkin pies and cannot locate canned pumpkin in any store. I wouldn't mind a few small dents but most were severely dented and/or smashed. I am afraid to use them so I am returning the entire case. I, too, believe the cans were damaged before they were packed, not damaged in shipping. Maybe the same returned cans are being re-shipped???

5perfect pumkinJun 04, 2010
the only pumpkin i can find. My small dog needs it for his digestion. Thank goodnes Amazon carries it. 2009 was a bad growing year for pumpkin, but Amazon has it all!

5No problem!Mar 18, 2010
My cans arrived perfectly fine -- no dents. Even if there were dents, who cares! It's not like any one gives canned pumpkin as a gift. The contents were fine, and that is all that counts.

5Spicy, dark and delicious!Feb 12, 2010
My case arrived in fine condition. Perhaps they've fixed the shipping problem permanently. Note that most of the low marks that drag ratings for this down are re shipping problems, not the product.

I use this as a base for smoothies - it's fast, flavorful and high in fiber - and organic, too!

3Sure don't take like Libby's Easy Pumpkin Pie MixJan 31, 2010
I am a huge fan of Libby's Easy Pumpkin Pie mix. One can of that and a can of evaporated mix and you have an instant pumpkin pie pudding or topping, no cooking needed because it is precooked when canned. Libby's was swept off the shelves due to a harvest shortage this year (2009 harvest). I bought some cans of this Farmer's Market pumpkin pie mix. OMG, out of the can it's a very thick paste instead of slightly pourable like Libby's. OK, that's a good thing, means it's richer. Or does it. I dunno. So, I used a spoon to get it all out. Added the 3/4 can of evaporated milk as it says to do. Proceded to feel like a kid mixing flour and water to do some craft project while I worked it to try to get a liquid going. Took a taste. OMG. Who dreamt up this recipe? Is this stuff raw and not to be eaten without being cooked first? It taste like molasses and pie spice. It looks like molasses and pie spice. It's brown instead of orange. OMG, who wants to buy my remaining cans? I got 7 left. This stuff tastes like crap if you try to use it as an uncooked sauce like Libby's. OK, so Libby's taste like liquid pumpkin candy pudding. It might really be typical unhealthy American diet fare. I dunno except it tastes fabulous. This stuff tastes like medicine in comparison. It probably makes a very good tasting pie. Maybe I'll nuke my mixture for a while and see if the taste improves. Otherwise, wait till Libby has another good harvest.
