Fun way to add flavor to foodDec 16, 2007

I'm just getting into the whole plank cooking thing, and so far I'm really enjoying it. It is a great way to give a mild, woody flavor to fish.
These are the thicker planks, which are nicer than the considerably thinner type. The thinner ones are called disposable because they can really only be used once (maybe twice, but don't bet on it).
Another fun thing to try is grilling papers. They are really thin slices of wood that you wrap completely around the fish. It holds the moisture in and gives more of a steamed effect.
This same company also makes square planks that are intended to be served on individual plates for serving after cooking.
Great flavor, highly recommendedSep 19, 2011
By JK I really enjoy these planks, especially for vegetables. I cook everything from beets, carrots, broccolli, green beans, squash, you name it. They really impart a terrific but subtle smoke flavor.
By the way, I have more than 20 uses on the smaller planks because I use indirect heat. They will start to burn if over the flame, but if you use indirect heat and you soak the planks in water for at least and hour you should be able to use over and over.
These are a must have.
Order them. Order them now.Nov 25, 2009
By Pammie P. I was extremely pleased when I recv'd these. They were much larger and thicker than anticipated. Professionally packaged. For the money, I just don't see why you would want to order any other. Best bang for the buck.
Can't give you product feedback, as these are being given as a Christmas gift with a nice set of Weber stainless steel grilling utensils (hint hint....what a great gift combo for the grill master in your family).
