Despite the "100% natural stevia" on the front of the package, this product states on the SIDE of the box that it contains Maltodextrin.
From Wikipedia: "Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is used as a food additive. It is produced from starch and is usually found as a creamy-white hygroscopic powder. Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose, and might either be moderately sweet or might have hardly any flavor at all. The CAS registry number of maltodextrin is 9050-36-6."
I also ordered NOW brand Stevia Balance, and Stevita Supreme from Amazon. They are both Maltodextrin-Free.

Just did a taste test with two mugs of exactly 6 oz of coffee with sugar in one and erba dolce stevia in the other to make the exact same sweetness level. Checking sweetness equality and taste. Very officially, measured really exactly, 3 3/4 tsp of sugar is equal to two packets of stevia which is almost just what they say. AND get this. I tasted them, when made to the exact same sweetness, side by side, back and forth, and they tasted identical to me. My husband just happened to come in to fix his coffee so I asked him to taste the two and compare. He had zero idea which mug was which, he had been in the living room all the while I was mixing it all up, and he chose the sugar one as the stevia mug!!!!!!! Totally freaked me out (him too). Soooo, this product is super great and there is zero aftertaste and it sweetens the same as sugar. And my husband had never tasted stevia before so he wasn't possibly already getting "used" to it had there been any of that going on with me who had been drinking it for five days. Virgin mouth, and he said the sugar one was the stevia. Fantastic!!!!! My ratio is - I need two packets of stevia (almost 4 tsp sugar) in 6 oz of coffee. So I like it really sweet, and other stevias I have tried (not many) were totally undrinkable when adding that much to the coffee. I am so thrilled to have finally found a stevia I can use - when I read others comments on other products that warn not to get it too sweet or it will have an aftertaste, I know that 5 tsp of sugar needed in a normal cup of coffee is way too sweet for those other stevias to work. I am sure most people would consider that amount of sweetness would be too sweet and the aftertaste would totally kick in by that time. It's OK with erba dolce!!

I first started purchasing Erba Dolce Stevia from Whole Foods Market Nutritional Supplement Store in NYC, when the federal government still labeled this product as a nutritional supplement. That changed. Now it is labled as a food supplement and I could no longer find it on Whole Foods store shelves. When I questioned the manager about this he told me that there was no shelf space in their main store for the Erba Dolce Stevia product - the best stevia you will find on the market. So my local Whole Foods Store stopped carrying this brand. I was upset. The manager even gave me a free box of another brand of stevia, which I had already tried and hated. So I had to find another way to get my Erba Dolce. I went online; I called the manufacturer; and I ended up on Amazon.com. There it was. This made me extremely happy. I will not use any other stevia product because this is the real one, the one to buy. That is why I have an autoship of Erba Dolce Stevia and I share my purchase with others who cannot afford to buy it. No other stevia brand even coompares to Erba Dolce. If you want stevia, get this one. You'll be glad you did.

I have had the opportunity to try other products before, but this one really is the best I have tried. I did not get the bitter aftertaste from other brands and the product really delivered as promised on the package. I have recommended to my friends and their feedback has been very positive too. I am sure it is also helping me shed some of those extra pounds I needed to get rid off.

I have not been a fan of many of the stevia's I tried but wanted to have a natural low cal sweetener, my friend had this brand and its wonderful, no aftertaste. So I'm now using this as my primary sweetener for my coffee and oatmeal!
