tasty and affordable, but not much buckwheatSep 21, 2009

I buy these bulk soba noodles because they are so affordable and they taste fine. However, they have more wheat and less buckwheat than other soba noodles I've tried, and are therefore paler and less nutty-tasting than I'd originally expected.

I purchased this gigantic box of Eden Organic Soba noodles on December 7, 2008 and am very pleased with the quality of the product. I hesitated in purchasing it for a few days because I was unsure what to expect in quality and packaging and no one had posted a review for me to consider. The product arrived packaged in the box you see depicted in the picture which has a large plastic bag holding the pasta. After examining it and finding no problems with it, I placed the entire box in my freezer for long-term storage and will definitely be purchasing it again in the distant future. This was definitely a great deal on an Excellent product!

I have tried several other brands of soba noodles from Amazon. So far, Eden Organic Soba and Roland Organic Soba are the best ones I have tried so far. They cook up easy, and to me, have the right consistency and taste. I would recommend either Eden or Roland, depending on which has the best price and free shipping.

Delivery was great! The only draw back is the entire 10 pounds of soba is not individually packaged in any way...a little difficult for a home kitchen. Otherwise, the soba is very good.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my family. It's exactly as described, a 10 lb box (bag inside) of Organic Soba.
If you enjoy eating soba then you're probably accustomed to a certain taste. I grew up eating soba and a variety of other noodles. The taste is comparable to a standard soba you could buy in an Asian foods market.
The value is good for these, it's June now and I still haven't gone through it all. The box holds the noodles well, I haven't had an instance where the noodles don't taste as fresh as they did the day I opened them.
I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for a bulk case of soba noodles.
