Makes GREAT Healthy cherry pie fillingAug 03, 2007
By R. Tietz This is a great product. It's not as finicky as arrowroot powder which if heated too long will not thicken. I made the recipe on the back with some additional changes and it was fabulous!! My kids loved it and it's a great substitute for the very unhealthy cans of cherry pie filling on the store shelfs. Here's what's on the back: QUICK APPLE CHERRY PUDDING (I call my new reciipe "Cherry Pie Filling"- used for cobbler) 4 C EDEN organic apple cherry juice (I used Santacruz unpast. OG apple juice) (I also added 1 1/2 Tbl of Dynamic Health Black Cherry Juice Concentrate) 4 Tbl EDEN Kuzu dissolved in 5 Tbl cold water Place all in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and stir constatnly until thick. Kuzu is also good for sothing the stomach and strengthening the intestines. this would be a great thing to give your child if he's suffering from a tummy ache.

I use this to make my own homemade baking poweder. This is a great product, but a bit expensive. I haven't decided if it's worth the extra expense yet, and that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
great productMay 27, 2012
By Poppy This is an excellent thickener and makes great pudding. It is expensive but with this "bulk" 4-pak order is cheaper than elsewhere. It is also recommended for health benefits-- can't testify to this tho.
expensive but worth itDec 24, 2011
By Macro chef I use this product to make vegan almond anise biscotti that gets raves from everyone who tries it (and doesn't dislike anise!) I wish I could find it cheaper, but other brands have been subpar.
We use this for colds, fluDec 12, 2011
By Karen Broyles I add it to warm apple cider to help fortify the constitution and ward off colds and flu. It is necessary, I have found, to bring the cider to a low boil, then allow it to simmer. When the cider is just cooling from a simmer, that is when the kuzu just stirs in beautifully. Any warmer or cooler, and the kuzu powder clumps. If anyone has any more precise directions on how to avoid clumping, I would really appreciate them. Because, every so often, I miss. But this is still great for what we use it for.
