5Perfect training bitsJan 01, 2007
By K. Camplin
I'd been looking for the perfect training snack. It had to be small, soft and yummy to the dog. It should also come in an easy to carry container. These treats fit the bill on all counts. The dogs love them. The bag is small and resealable so you just stuff it in your pocket as you run out the door (terrific when your being herded by 3 dogs!) The snacks are soft and small, about the size of a thick postage stamp. These are as close to the perfect training treat I have found!

5Great TreatsApr 07, 2008
By Sue C.
I use these as my go-to everyday treats for my two highly active agility shelties. They love them and they are a good size and do not crumble. I find most treats too big or too hard or too crumbly. If need be they snap in half quickly, although I must say....my shelties would rather I not take that approach.

5Healthy, Natural, Yummy Treats!Aug 16, 2007

Our dog LOVES these treats, he is allergic to a lot of things but lamb isn't one of them so when I found these treats I was really hoping he would like them. He gobbles them up like candy! These are a great find and affordable too!

5Lamb has a Stronger Smell than BeefApr 19, 2012
By iHeartDogs
I love that these treats are made in the USA and only have a few ingredients, all of them natural. And that they're made of almost all MEAT! They're small enough for a quick training treat and aren't messy. I can easily break them into even smaller pieces as well. It seems to me that the lamb has a stronger smell than the beef, and it's a smell I'm not too crazy about, but it's not that strong. (We've had dog treats that stank to high heaven.) At the same time, the smell is strong enough to really get the dogs' attention. I think they prefer the lamb though they are happy to have either.

5Excellent, excellent, especially if you have small dogs.Dec 30, 2011

Most "training treats" are a good size for your average-sized dog, but if you have smaller dogs (mine are 7 and 15 pounds), even those can be too big.

I get 8x the number of treats out of these bags; it takes a little more time, but grab the bag of treats and a pair of scissors, pick a good movie, and get to work. Cut them in half lengthwise, then stack the two strips and cut them each into 4 pieces (3 cuts). You wind up with a treat that's about 1/4"x1/4" and is still big enough for your small dog to quickly eat, but isn't so big that you have to worry about filling them up. A bag that's been cut up like this lasts me easily a month or two, and I'm pretty liberal with the treats.

Another advantage to these treats is they don't crumble much in your jacket/hoodie pocket - but that only goes for the lamb! I bought the beef ones and they were softer and broke apart, so we went back to the lamb, which the dogs seem to prefer anyway.

This stuff might *look* like cardboard, but it is lamb-and-garlic stinky and I have yet to meet a dog that didn't think they were the greatest - including the super-shy little dachshund at a class whose owners insisted he was picky, and then couldn't believe it when he followed me around for the rest of the class looking for more.

My only problem with these is I can't find them locally in Los Angeles yet (I used to buy these at a chain in San Francisco) and Amazon only sells them in packs of 12.
