Not his best but still goodOct 03, 2008
By California Vegan I like the convience of the McDougall soups. This is not my favorite. It seems to need bread with. I use these soups for work. Most of them are very filling and taste great. This one taste really good. But, I seem to be a little hungry.

Glad to find lower sodium productsFeb 27, 2011
By P. Pryor I've tried most of the McDougall LIGHT SODIUM instant soups and have them several times each week for lunch. White Bean and Pasta is my second favorite LIGHT SODIUM soup behind the Split Pea (really like that one).
It does, however, require more time than the other soups to "steep" and develop its flavors. It also requires more time to take the crunch out of the pasta and vegetables. Let it sit longer than directed and you may want to put it back in the microwave to heat up.
Small price to pay for an inexpensive and relatively healthy lunch. Try it.

Good, but stir thoroughly, and even then ymmvJan 17, 2011
By Dae K. Yi This line of products from Dr. McDougall's, is a reasonable solution to those looking for a semi-quick and easy snack or small vegetarian meal. The ingredient list was something that I was fine with, as well as the (relatively) lower amount of sodium. While the other products in this line are good to go after about 5 minutes, the white bean and pasta soup requires 8 minutes, according to the directions. Even then, I notice "crunching" of somewhat dry pasta when eating it. Thoroughly stirring the product helps to a cetain extent, but even so it still happens.
Also, the lids are glued on TIGHT. Very difficult to remove the paper lid without ripping it. This also wouldn't be an issue, except the directions say to cover the lid with the spoon while the soup is sitting. So have a suitable substitute cover for it.
Otherwise the taste is fine, and it does make my lunch meals easier.

not the greatest vegan productDec 01, 2008
By dkh I am always looking for good tasting vegan products. Although I enjoy other Dr. McDougall soups, I didn't care much for the White Bean & Pasta soup. I would not buy it again.

Emergency lunch for desk drawerOct 14, 2011

I doubt this is something you are going to routinely fix at home (unless your a no-cook bachelor). This is however tastey and great to keep in the desk drawer for those busy days when you can't break for lunch (Or forgot it like I do).
