5Tastes realApr 06, 2010
By D. Martin "Skyhawk"
I live in Northern New Mexico, where tortilla soup recipes are printed both in the paper and stored in safety deposit boxes. I eat this because I like the taste. At home I usually add some green chile since it is a little bland, but at work, right out of the cup. Highly recommended. You can add red chile or a little cayenne if too bland for the office. Peeling green chiles in the lunch room makes a bit of a mess. Prepared green chile could be left in the office fridge, though.

This soup is delicious. Anyone claiming some of the pieces are too hard or gritty are not cooking and stirring it properly.

4Tortilla SoupApr 17, 2012

I usually make my tortilla soup from scratch, but it's great to have this around. It's rather tasty, and surprisingly so for an instant soup. I always have this in my kitchen in case I don't have a lot of time to cook.

2DisappointedMar 14, 2007
By mitty "mitty"
I bought this particular soup because I'd tasted and enjoyed [very much] the black bean and split pea soup. This one was a disappointment. It was a little too watery, which I suppose could be solved by not adding the required amount of water, but I didn't care for the taste either. It was bland and the texture was too hard. The little bits of vegetable were too hard even after soaking longer than required.

3Goes to 5 stars with some tomato paste...Jul 12, 2011
By imdebra
As is, it's okay, but tastes a little watery. I added a squeeze of Amore Italian Tomato Paste (that comes in tubes) and that really made it right!
