Ultra Downy Fabric Softener Sheets with their "april fresh" scent do an excellent job of softening my clothing and towels in my clothes dryer. I have also used these with great satisfaction at laundromats. They come in a thin cardboard container that is easy to open so you can just reach in and grab some for the drying cycle. The box is easy to carry to a laundromat, too.
I recommend using three or four sheets for your load of wash even though Downy says just one or two may be enough; I like my clothes extra soft. People with itchy skin who want clothing and towels very soft would do well to use three or four sheets, too.
Unfortunately, one drawback exists: DON'T use Downy fabric softener sheets if you are drying anything that is flame resistant. They will reduce the flame resistant quality of the garment. This holds true especially for children's sleepwear or garments that are labeled flame resistant. Fabrics containing fleece and terry cloth should not be dried with this product, either. Downy fabric softener makes these fleece and terry cloth items more likely to become flammable; and that's not desirable.
The April Fresh scent is great; but if you're sensitive to perfumes try using Downy in an unscented form.
Overall, Downy April Fresh fabric softener sheets are just about the best brand when you want to soften your things in the clothes dryer. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants their wash to come out of the dryer really nice and soft; Downy fabric softener sheets may be even more helpful if you have "hard" water in your clothes washing machine. They have a drawback concerning some flame resistant garments; but these items can always be washed separately.

If you like this Downy scent, this is a super bargain, especially when on sale. I've found that cheap fabric softener sheets are not worth buying so I'm back to only getting Downy. I buy these big packs to send to my soldier in Afghanistan: they use them everywhere to keep things from getting stinky. Make sure to triple ziploc the box before mailing since the smell is so strong.

The scent is very strong at first and you can smell it all over your house. After several days though it either dissipated or I got used to it. Seems to work well on static. I used to use Snuggle but will use this interchangeably.
