I have tried the other brands and I am here to tell you - don't waste your money on the cheaper ice cream mixes - LOOK NO FURTHER! THIS IS THE BEST! The quality is amazing and you can definately tell. I like the vanilla better than the chocolate (and I am a chocolate lover) but as far as the chocolates go, this is also the best out there. I use this in the Cuisinart fully automatic icecream maker. The recipe calls for 1 cp whole milk and 1 cp heavy cream. In the Cuisinart I use 1.5 to 2 cps heavy cream (they have 1.5 qt freezer bowls and the recipe makes 1 qt) and it comes out very creamy and EXCELLENT! In these Cuisinarts, the ice cream will dispense in a smaller stream if you follow exact directions, larger more pro stream with the extra cream - I'm not sure about other icecream makers, but the basic premise is the same - creamier means extra mixing.

The vanilla ice cream mix tastes good, but high in calories,carbs and price in comparison to what we had before, but unable to find previous brand.
