Description:

The artichoke is a hot-weather vegetable, actually the flower bud of the artichoke plant, with the succulent hearts contained within the bud. Artichokes flower only in climates with long, warm days. Italians have many uses for those earthy, tender, mildly sweet hearts, including salads, antipasti or sautéed with other vegetables over pasta. We offer artichoke hearts in brine or in an oil-based marinade with spices, and in a variety of sizes so you can choose the one that’s right for your dish. Contains 5-7 hearts per can.

Features:

Pack of six, 13.75-ounce units (total of 82.5 ounce)

5Delicious artichoke hearts!May 27, 2008
By A. Bennett
These are very tasty artichoke hearts. The outer leaves of a few of them may need to be discarded but the rest of it is fresh tasting and delicious! The brine is not at all salty which allows the true flavor of the artichokes to come forth. If you like artichokes, I highly recommend these as a simple, easy way to serve a unique vegetable at the table. I don't know about you but actually peeling a fresh artichoke is daunting! And the 80% waste from preparing a fresh one is disturbing. To me, getting multiple hearts all prepared and ready to serve is fabulous! I highly recommend this canned vegetable.

1Dented cansApr 02, 2012
By C. M. Holser
Every can in this case was dented at either the top or the bottom seam. Bacteria can go into a can where it is dented at a seam. I ate the contents of the least dented can, but I had diarrhea & gas the next day, so I put the other cans into the garbage bin.

The artichokes tasted good, though, and were tender.
