De Cecco Bucatini, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 5)
De Cecco, the Italian Tradition of High Quality Pasta since 1886. Guaranteed! Ordinary dry pasta tends to be mushy, bland in taste and break apart, even if cooked carefully. De Cecco pasta easily cooks to perfection, has a great firm texture and a delicious “fresh” pasta taste. It has also a rougher surface, which helps the sauce stick to it. De Cecco pasta is the secret ingredient for your most amazing dishes! WHAT MAKES DE CECCO PASTA EXTRAORDINARY? Since 1886, De Cecco pasta has won worldwide recognition for its taste, firm texture, and cooking consistency. De Cecco pasta has become synonymous for superior quality and Italian authentic taste around the world. De Cecco grinds the premium-quality wheat in its own mill in Fara San Martino. De Cecco grinds it gently, to avoid damaging the vital gluten. A strict daily selection ensures that only the heart of each grain of wheat is chosen. The rest of the wheat is discarded. The dough is mixed only with cold spring water (59°F from the nearby mountains of Abruzzo National Park) and it's kneaded slowly, to assure optimal development of the gluten. This step also ensures that the resulting pasta has the exceptional De Cecco aroma, flavor and consistency. De Cecco forms the different shapes of pasta using only bronze dies, which produces a slightly rough surface that sauce clings to. Buon Appetito!

Pasta Heaven!Jan 18, 2011
Oh pasta, how I love thee in all your wonderful forms! But the toothy wonderful texture of bucatini and perciatelli is the most sublime of them all! This pasta is the opposite of Angel Hair pasta - it's a chewier, thicker version of Spaghetti and is wonderful with all kinds of strong sauces. We love Perciatelli with a garlic, chili, olive oil sauce with spicy Italian sausage or even sauteed boconcini. De Cecco brand pasta is wonderful quality too and very reasonably priced.

Great with any full bodied sauce. It's giant long macaroni who doesn't love that? Dangit, now I have to go cook some

PerfectJun 14, 2010
Delicious! I can't say enough good things about this pasta. I just love the texture. It brings out a whole other side to sauces. Great quality and taste. I've made it a few times and every time it comes out perfectly al dente. It's small tubes, so that gives it a great chewy mouth feel. I can't find this at my grocery store here, so I'm grateful Amazon stocks it.

Hard to findJun 15, 2011
It can be hard to find Perciatelli or Bucatini in any brand, let alone a good brand like DeCecco. This DeCecco far exceeds most of what you will find on the shelf at the supermarket and is even better than many more expensive brands. A must for an Amatriciana sauce. The box says to cook it 12 minutes, but if you like it al dente, and especially if you are going to finish it in a pan with the sauce, start checking it at about 9 minutes to make sure you don't overcook it.

A Big Hit at Our House!Dec 07, 2013

We have been buying this for years but, we know it as perciatelli. One of the most important attributes of this pasta is the texture, it is not glass smooth like most American made pastas, but has a slightly rough texture which helps the sauce to coat each strand. Before we were married my husband had never eaten bucatini, but now it is the only pasta that he wants.
