De Cecco Bucatini, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 5)

SKU:

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

Perciatelli, (also called bucatini), are originally from Naples and are long strands of pasta with a round pierced section. Well known are the bucatini all'amatriciana, a bacon tomato based sauce. However this versatile pasta cut is suitable for butter, meat, cheese and egg based sauces. Excellent also with vegetable based sauces made with tomato, peppers, aubergines, olives and capers. Since 1886 we have liked our pasta to be bronze drawn and slowly dried because we like it to fall into the plate full of taste, rough and always "al dente". Even though our taste has not changed, as we feel the same love for tradition, we have continued to improve our production technologies.

Features:

Long strands of pasta with a round pierced section

They are between 0.038 inch - 0.042 inch thick, with a 0.118 inch diameter

Goes well with vegetable- based sauces made with tomato, peppers, aubergines, olives and capers

Made in Italy

5Pasta Heaven!Jan 18, 2011
By indiestar "indiestar"
Oh pasta, how I love thee in all your wonderful forms! But the toothy wonderful texture of bucatini and perciatelli is the most sublime of them all! This pasta is the opposite of Angel Hair pasta - it's a chewier, thicker version of Spaghetti and is wonderful with all kinds of strong sauces. We love Perciatelli with a garlic, chili, olive oil sauce with spicy Italian sausage or even sauteed boconcini. De Cecco brand pasta is wonderful quality too and very reasonably priced.

5PerfectJun 14, 2010

Delicious! I can't say enough good things about this pasta. I just love the texture. It brings out a whole other side to sauces. Great quality and taste. I've made it a few times and every time it comes out perfectly al dente. It's small tubes, so that gives it a great chewy mouth feel. I can't find this at my grocery store here, so I'm grateful Amazon stocks it.

5Christmas dinnerDec 22, 2009
By Gail "G.S."
This pasta makes the most amazing dish. Since I was a little girl my mother made a dish every Christmas to go with the ham. Cooked Perciatelli mixed with tomato sauce, shredded cheddar chesse placed in a casserole dish, topped with buttered bread crumbs and baked until the chesse bubbles.....amazing!

1all brokenMar 15, 2013

I was so excited to find Bucatini by a good brand (De Cecco) at a fair price, until my package arrived with all the pasta boxes squished and pasta broken. Really disappointed. E' meglio andare senza che comparare la pasta tutta rotta.
