4Enjoyable snack, very high in sodiumAug 17, 2007
By Modern Blue Argonaut
I really love pumpkin seeds and this is a great deal. You could expect to buy these in the store for $1.99. All the seeds were very clean and had a delicious flavor, although not nearly as good as the ones I make each Halloween after carving pumpkins. The backside labeling is deceptive. It states that a serving (1/4 cup) has 10 mg of sodium, but if you read down further you will find that 1/4 cup actually has 940 mg. Since most people eat these in the shell, or at minimum shell them in your mouth, you do have to watch your sodium on these. The price is great on Amazon, and the quality of David seeds is excellent. Each 5 oz bag states it has 4 (1/4 cup) servings, but it actually lasts about 6 servings for me.

5Salty LuxuryApr 24, 2008
By an honest reviewer
These pumpkin seeds fulfill my craving for something salty. I can keep
I like these with the shell on them. The crispy, salty shell is what I like best.
I avoid using salt since I was 12,when my granny stopped using it,I followed her habit ever since.
This is just a delicious way to fill the salt cravings I get occasionally. This small bag is gone in one or two days. They are completely irresistible.I can't control myself to have just a few at a time.Low in calories too, they're a nice snack.
I haven't tried making them at home.

5Plump & TastyNov 05, 2007
By Granual2
I am an avid pumpkin seed eater and I've found that David's are the best. The pumpkin seeds are consistently plump & fresh with just the right amount of salt. The Amazon pricing & delivery is great. Highly recommended.

2Partially SatisfiedMar 23, 2009
By Susan I. Diaz "motownsue"
I bought two boxes of pumpkin seeds. The first one had a date of Nov. 7, 2009. These were really good and crunchy. Every one had a nice "snap" to it. But then I got to the second box, dated Dec. 5, 2009, and they were not good at all. They had no crunch and were tough to chew. I keep trying, one bag, then a second one, then a third one, with all the same results. Very disappointing. So I decided to call Amazon to complain. The customer service was great, and they sent me a free second box to replace the bad one. Well I opened it up, and it was dated Dec. 5, 2009! So basically the same disappointing results! I'm eating them just because that's all I have, but I'm due to receive my second shipment, and I'm anxious to see what date they have on the box, and how they taste. As a side note, I decided to purchase a bag from the store to compare, and it was dated Feb. 10, 2010. Much better! So hopefully Amazon will keep sending the freshest products possible, and not boxes that have been sitting on their shelves.

3Not 'Lightly' SaltedJan 25, 2011
By Lorie Auguste
We are pumpkin seed fanatics! We can't wait for the 'season', so we can make our own. I used David & Son's in the off-season because that's the only time we can get them. We roast them further with some olive oil and pepper which gives them much better flavor... Unfortunately, the salt level is SO HIGH, your tongue curls up after just a few! I called them to see if they were available 'roasted-NO or LOW salt added', then we could control.. nope. They were very cool on the phone and offered coupons in the mean time along with passing along the desire for no-low salt added versions. That was cool... but until then... I'm trying to soak them in water first to see if i removes some of the salt.. I'll let you know how it goes.... stay tuned...
