This is my favorite of the Dassant mixes (and they are all pretty terrific). Made as instructed, it is a quick and easy mix that makes a cake with a 'homemade' taste. It is also fun to experiment and make other baked goods with this mix such as cookies and bars. For bars: Stir together the mix, 1 egg, 1 stick of melted butter and 3/4 C finely ground nuts (if it seems very dry, mix in 2 Tbls. water or orange juice). Press into a prepared 8 x 8 pan and bake at 325 for about 1/2 hour. (Check at 25 minutes - use toothpick test.) Let cool completely before cutting into bars. They are fabulous!

want to agree with the other reviewer...wonderful lemony taste, doesn't leave a starchy aftertaste like many mixes and very easy to make.

This mix produces a very moist, tender lemon cake with a nice crust. I baked it in a 2 qt. round Le Creuset & it took 55 min. & made a very pretty, tasty little cake. I wanted to try the mix just as it is first time baking it; since I am a lemon lover next time I will add a dash of lemon extract. This mix is a winner & great addition to your pantry. Enjoy your cake!

I gave it this rating because the mix could use just a hint of lemon. But it is still a great tasting cake. I paid $14.05 in June of 2011 for the pack of 6, the price has gone up Supreme. The prices do increase a lot at Amazon I do not understand the increases in such a short amount of time. If the price goes down I will ask for the different in the price. I have to watch my language here Amazon will kick it back to me (My Review).
