Description:

Product Description Crunchies Freeze-Dried Blueberries are 100 percent real, great-tasting blueberries. The only thing taken out of the berries through Crunchies' patented freeze-drying process is water. No additives, no preservatives. That means no added sugar, no oil, no sulphur. They're wheat-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free, but rich in fiber and nutrients. Less water equals more flavor and a satisfying crunch that both kids and adults love. All this and only 100 calories per 3/4 cup! It's truly nature's ultimate snack food, and comes in a convenient resealable bag that's great for kids lunches, hiking, school, work, or any in-between meal snack on-the-go. You can also add them to pancakes, cereal, yogurt, or ice cream. About the Brand Founded in 1993, Crunchies Food Company began with a mission: to create a line of foods that was not only unique and innovative, but also healthy and great tasting. The company also wanted to ensure that whatever foods they used were grown and handled in a way that was good for the environment, too. From the very beginning, every part of the company's process, including the packaging, literature, food-stuffs, employees, and the commitment to give back to the community, had to reflect the company's overarching philosophy. Starting with reduced fat granolas with dried cherries and low-fat pancake mixes with orange zest and cardamom, and branching out into trail mixes made with unique organic and conventional fruits, Crunchies Food Company soon made a name for itself in California. But it wasn't until they discovered the uniqueness and healthfulness of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables that they really began to plan for a national expansion. Presently, Crunchies has made their way into some 700 stores nationwide and have been acknowledged by the likes of Bon Appetite, Fitness Magazine, Sports Illustrated for Women, and over a dozen other periodicals. They were also honored by their peers with an award for having one of the most

3don't buy for travelsSep 01, 2007
By Deborah Shore
I really wanted these to work for travels where I pack all my own food. However, they are a decidedly poor alternative for travels, since most of the outer coating of the fruit turns into very messy powder. The strawberry flavor is slightly less of an ordeal in that regards but still messy. They are probably good for you if you want a stowaway fruit you can use when you haven't gotten to the store for awhile or want it out of season to sprinkle into something, but otherwise the price and messiness are both much too prohibitive. I've bumped it up from two stars to three, however, after considering how they keep the enzymes intact and don't add sulfites.

4Tasty, but messyJul 19, 2007
By A. Holley
These are very good, but too messy to eat alone as a snack. The blueberries stained my fingers and mouth. They are very good mixed with yogurt or in muffins. Normally, they are a little pricey, but with the instant rebate, they are well worth the cost.

5Wonderful productJun 27, 2008
By Carla "Carla"
Not sure why this item has received any bad reviews. These blueberries are just what I needed. Freeze-dried and naturally sweet.

Regular/traditionally dried blueberries (not freeze-dried) often have sugar added to make them sweet, which I cannot have, so I am ecstatic that these are so good.

I ordered a whole case and none of the blueberries were pulverized, no extra powder, they are all beautiful and whole.

5Just what expectedJun 11, 2008
By Donald Mercer
Previous reviewes told of the mess involved with these, they obviously have not had freeze dried fruit before. Wether it is blueberries, strawberries, lychees or any other fruit, you will have a bit of a mess from the product. Get over it! Wash your hands, brush your teeth. Now for the item at hand, Blueberries. Typical freeze dried berries with good taste and that wonderful powder! Can not be improved.

5Really good - little powdery but goodJan 20, 2009
By C. Bayne "katluvr_1"
These taste wonderful. They are a little powdery, which is to be expected since they are freeze dried, so don't breathe in as you're eating. Fresh blueberries are better, but these are very good. I saw a few reviews that mentioned everything arriving as powder, but mine arrived in good shape.

One thing I really like is that the only ingredient is blueberries. There's no sulfur (which I'm allergic to) or corn syrup. These are good in cereal and as a snack, though you might want to have some water on hand in case you breathe in some blueberry dust.

Highly recommended.
