By Stan Bought frozen crab cakes from a couple places. They were OK. Tried crab meat from Sam's & Wal-Mart. This product is superior to any thing else I've tried. Good price on a good product. Here's my recipe: Southern Style Crab Cakes w/ Roasted Pepper chive Aioli Ingredients: 12 oz lump crab meat, drained (reserve liquid for later. May be used to make meat mix the right consistency or to extend mixture with extra bread crumbs if needed) ¼ cup celery, finely diced ½ cup chives, minced (¼ cup for meat mix- ¼ cup for chive aioli) ½ cup mayonnaise (¼ cup for meat mix- ¼ cup for chive aioli) 1 large egg 2 tsp Dijon mustard ¼ tsp hot sauce App. ½ cup plain bread crumbs. Add bread crumbs or reserved liquid as needed to get correct consistency after refrigeration ¼ cups roasted red pepper, drained
4-10-10. Changed recipe to panko bread crumbs. Big improvement. Adds great texture/crunch to crab cakes. Ordering another case of crab meat today.

By J. Forbes The best canned crab meat I have found to date. Texture is amazing. Makes perfect crabcakes and dip. Worth every penny.

Probably great in recipes, but I just had to eat it out of the can.Dec 30, 2009

Well, I just had to try canned crab meat. I'd never had it, so I bought a can of it retail (and I decided that on-line is the way to shop for products like this).
The meat looked and smelled fresh and was wrapped in a little cloth-like baggy. I was impressed. But not being a chef I just wolfed it down out of the can and it tasted like crab meat that had been soaked in water for a long time. This is no substitute for fresh crab like the crab that's in it's shell on ice, but it's better than I expected canned crab to be.

Best crab meatSep 07, 2009
By Jon This stuff is really good. I live in the DC Metro area so I go to Baltimore a lot and the Eastern Shore so I know what good crab meat tastes like. This stuff beats any canned product out there, but live crab freshly picked is better. It is fantastic, and you can tell by the way it is wrapped up and well taken care of in the can. I would highly recommend this it makes for great crab dip and crab cakes.

Not Worth The Extra CostJul 26, 2010

Received the product in good order. However, I could really not tell any difference from Crown Prince regular Lump White Crab Meat which sells for less. It is good, but not worth the extra cost.
