Love, love, love it! (Especially for cloth diapers)Aug 05, 2009

We switched from Tide to Country Save about a year ago. Country Save works great for all types of laundry, especially cloth diapers. I'm not sure what the other reviews are referring to when they mention that this detergent cannot be used on cloth diapers. We have used it exclusively for the past year and have had no trouble with our cloth diapers (Happy Heiny's). In fact, this detergent is the top recommendation on Happy Heiny's website and also in our local cloth diaper stores. Yes, it does have a very mild fragrance, but the fragrance does not affect the performance of the diaper, nor does it cause any skin irritations on children. If there's a concern about the fragrance, simply add 1/2 cup vinegar to the rinse cycle... it will remove any excess detergent from the fabric and also helps soften the clothes without using fabric softener. Great 'Green' solution for LaundryJun 19, 2008

Country Save is my favorite product for laundry. The only thing I would change is I bought the liquid thinking it was fragrance free- It has a mild fragrance, which is pleasant, but I cannot use this liquid on our cloth diapers. I purchased the Laundry powder instead for the cloth diapers and all is working well.

This is the best detergent ever. Finally, an all natural detergent that actually works. I use it on all of our laundry, including our cloth diapers and they come out so fresh and clean.

Wonderful for Cloth Diapers!Jun 10, 2011
By P. SIMPSON I have Bumgenius 4.0 pocket diapers for my baby and only use this detergent to wash them. I was hesitant at first because it does have mild fragrance, but that does not seem to be an issue for the diapers or baby. There is no build up or residue on the diapers and they come out looking and smelling sooooo clean! You should not use the liquid Country Save detergent if you have an HE front loading machine because it does create quite a bit of soapy suds and may not rinse out as well. Country Save recommends the powder detergent for HE washers. Also, the powder detergent is fragrance-free if that is something of concern. I could not be happier with this product. In fact, once our bottle of the "other" detergent is gone, I will be switching to Country Save for all laundry and not just diapers!
*UPDATE* 4/19/12 I've been cloth diapering for almost a year now and currently have 2 kids in cloth. I'm only using this detergent and I have had zero diaper issues! The diapers have not needed to be stripped because there is no buildup of detergent residue. The microfiber inserts in the Bumgenius diapers are completely odorless and are just as absorbent as when they were new. Oh and I use so little for each load because that is really all it requires, I'm only on my second bottle of four! I noticed that if you use too much detergent it will need an extra rinse or the clothes will come out stiff as others have mentioned. Every washer/water is different, but to give an approximation I use 1/4 cap for a medium load of clothes in a standard top loader and it works great and does not require the extra rinse. I use 2 tablespoons for about 12-16 diaper loads with the extra rinse cycle. I do not use any sort of fabric softener.

I guess I'm to blame...only after these arrived I noticed they are not for HE washing machines....which sucks for me...
