Absolutely Exquisite Taste & Scent! Autistic Son Adores!Jun 06, 2010

I just love this stuff. To some it may seem weird to eat the flowers you relate to your perfume etc. But it's a taste you must try! My favorite is to sprinkle sparingly on my rice dishes and deserts! Plain Rice, Dab Of Butter, Dash Of Salt, and sprinkle of Lavender...MMMHHH GOOD!
A major benefit is for my son who has Autism. He just loves to smell this and adds it to everything he wants to give me. It makes him feel so proud that he made Mom's food, birthday card, etc not only look good but smell wonderful. It has him smiling daily at his accomplishments. He knows IT IS SAFE FOR INGESTING! That's a really good thing. The other day I caught him adding it to his bath water! The sheepish grin when I walked in was priceless! I recommend keeping a bottle of this handy!

Good product, LOTS of it!Jun 02, 2011
By Kate I bought this product as a economical way to purchase lavender to cook with. Those looking to do so needs to investigate their options as not all lavender is culinary grade (most is for its scent and isn't recommended for eating!) Culinary lavender is MUCH more expensive than non culinary lavender. This was a great deal however there is a ton of it. Hopefully you've already tried lavender and enjoy the taste because if you don't you've got some expensive potpourri.
Recipe for Lavender Tea Bread: Ingredients * 3/4 cup milk * 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh lavender (or 1.5 TBS dried) * 6 tablespoons butter, softened * 1 cup white sugar (can partly substitute with honey) * 2 eggs * 2 cups all-purpose flour * 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder * 1/4 teaspoon salt * Glaze: o 1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar o 1 teaspoon water (or a citrus juice) o 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract o Optional pinch of lavender
Directions 1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Can also make cupcakes 2. Combine the milk and lavender in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat to a simmer, then remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly. 3. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until the mixture is light and fluffy. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and lavender until just blended. Pour into the prepared pan. 4. Bake for 50 minutes (or less if cupcakes) in the preheated oven, or until a wooden pick inserted into the crown of the loaf comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. 5. To prepare glaze, combine powdered sugar and remaining ingredients. Spread over hot cake. Serve with fruit if preferred.
