The box comes with two bags of dry malt extract, and 3 hop additions in their own bags, and one little mesh steeping bag for each hop addition. The only problem is they don't label what hops they use, they only list them as flavoring, bittering, and aroma. The aroma hops(the last addition) are whole flower form, and the rest are in pellet form. The aroma hops smell great and fresh, but the pellets are much less fresh smelling.
There is also a bag of steeping grains, which is quite large. The directions that come with the box suggest you use a grain steeping bag for the grains, and I've used this kit and other Coleridge kits with and without a grain steeping bag, and there is not difference except it is much easier with a bag.
The directions are very easy to follow and direct you how to make the wort, and after that you must use another resource on how to ferment it. The directions are well written and even suggest you use "How to Brew By John Palmer" I own this book and I works great as an aid.
I let the beer ferment for 3 weeks in a large bucket with airlock bubbler, and then bottled it(they also don't give you primer suger, that's okay just use 2/3 cup dissolved table suger) I let the bottles condition for 2 weeks, and it tastes great! I've bought a few of these kits and if you get free shipping from amazon they are good deals.
I love these Coleridge boxes. I once purchased a 'kit' that contained only two cans of hop flavored malt and a packet of yeast. It was rediculously easy but did not taste anywhere near what you get from Coleridge's boxes.
