Cavalry Hard DriveFeb 28, 2008
By Al I purchased this item a month ago and since my PC is old and only has a USB 1.0 connection I had to get Cavalry to send me an additional cable. I now have two cables plugged into of my PC's 2 USB connectors. It took it that long for them to send the cable to me. It runs s l o w l y and HOT. I am downloading my Program Files into it and it is taking hours. I mounted it on a small metal stand and have a small fan blowing air over it. I gave it 3 stars because it runs so hot that I have to provide external cooling which reduces its portability aspect. However, it seems to be working OK.

Systematic Problems with Power & USB connectivity. eSATA slowDec 12, 2007
By David Wu I bought this for the low price, USB and eSATA, and mac compatibility. One major problem is that the power plug is VERY unreliable (flickers in and out with just touching the drive)--I had this problem with two of these drives (I returned the first, hoping it was an isolated problem). Also, I was never able to get the USB connection to work on two macs, or the intel mac running Windows Vista natively (I tried both NTFS and Mac formatting). The eSATA works, but the transfer rates were capped at around USB 2.0 rates, so no benefit there either. I'm returning the second unit.

returning processMar 28, 2008

"jusiles"
The purchasing and shipping proces was Ok but when received the product and plugged it in my computer it didn`t work, it was clicking but I couldn`t see the driver in my laptop. It took me three calls and three emails to have a response and give me the instruction how to return it. Now I`m in the process of wating for the new device and I hope it going to work as advertised "plug and play". I purchased on March, now is July 5th and after numerous emails back and for to customer service, Jessica Michelle Dupre, Carrie Young, Joshua Ariza in Bason Computer/Cavalrystorage, I still don't have my product back, therefore I could not even qualify the product due to this customer service problem.
Small, well-built, no problemsSep 21, 2008
By Eric I purchased a few of these on sale for several reasons - as a data-backup solution that I can store in my safe, to boot entire operating systems as an alternative to virtualization, and for some virtualization as well. So far, these drives are performing as expected. I haven't installed the included backup software, so I can't offer an opinion on that, but everything else is great. Comes with a "pigtail" usb a-b cable as well as an esata cable.
