Love itSep 14, 2009

Pros: Esata = fast! Raid options work. Hard drives seem to be stable without clicking. Got it for warehouse deals for 100 (has a scratch on the side). Though I'd be still be happy if I paid more. Can upgrade hard drives down the road. Enclosure alone would cost almost what I paid. Built solid, but I wouldn't drop it. Despite the comments on these drives I feel the fan isn't that loud like some say. Shipped well
Cons: Big and heavy. Fan placement could of been better, but it does it's job. Lights are quite bright I masked them with black tape.

Great SAFE Backup DeviceAug 12, 2010

I've had this device for over a year now without a lick of problems. I was originally looking for a single, 1 TB disk, BUT I'M SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS ONE!!! This unit HAS TWO DISKS in it, and the software allows you use those DISKS in several ways. They way I'm using it is called a "SAFE DRIVE". The system writes everything to BOTH disks. If 1 disk ever goes down, it automatically uses the second disk. Once the bad disk is replaced, it will automatically write everything from the working disk over to the new disk. NOTE: THIS MEANS YOU END UP WITH A 500GB DRIVE INSTEAD OF 1 TB, but the extra safety is worth the loss in disk space. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Failed in 3 monthsNov 19, 2008

What else can I review about? It only worked for three months. I have 500gb of data in it, with a seal saying if broken warranty void. No way I wanna send it to repair with my data. Why 500GB? I used it as RAID1, so i do not have to have to buy another disk for dual backups. But i just realized it was a mistake.
