These are Awesome!Aug 02, 2006
By Sara We normally use a liquid dishwasher detergent, but tried these once when they were on sale at the grocery store. These work so much better than the liquid! No more spots on our silverware, and I can tell that the glass is a lot less cloudy as well.
My husband had been saying that we needed to look into a new dishwasher, but now he's changed his mind and loves these tablets. We still have half a container of liquid soap that we will probably never use!

fine new breed of dishwasher detergentAug 06, 2007
By Matthew G. Sherwin Cascade manufactures a great product with their water-soluble pouches of dishwasher detergent. These pouches take all the mess and guess work out of adding the dishwater detergent to your dishwasher before you start it up. Just place one pouch, unopened, into the main dispenser cup (not any other cup) of your dishwasher, close the dispenser cup if you have to--and then just turn on the dishwasher! The pouch with its soap and Dawn gives you very clean dishes that actually DO shine just as Amazon notes that they do. Great!
The pouches cause no harm to septic tanks; and your dishwasher runs just fine with them instead of the regular dishwasher detergent you may have used up until now.
After the dishwasher cycle is over, simply remove the pouch from the dispenser cup and discard it. Make sure that every time you take a pouch out of the plastic bag they come in that you reseal that plastic bag to help maintain the freshness of the remaining dishwasher detergent pouches.
This form of dishwasher soap mixed with Dawn and a mild cinnamon apple spice scent gives you such shiny, clean dishes that it becomes addictive! This product does the job of cleaning your dishes marvelously; and once you try them you'll be hooked just as I am now. SMILE In addition, one reviewer notes that these packages will save you the effort of carrying very heavy containers of detergent from your grocery store. They come out to cost about 22 cents per dishwasher cycle; and I guess that's about the right price for a sophisticated product like this one with all its excellent packaging.
The only caveat is that this does have a cinnamon apple spice scent to it. If you are allergic to any scents or perfumes try an unscented form of dishwasher detergent.
Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone who has a dishwasher and cares to try to just make things easier for themselves when it comes to loading up the dishwasher or preparing it for a wash cycle. These bags make for no muss/no fuss deal; and that's quite all right in my book!
Use them in good health!

Cost ComparisonDec 04, 2008
By numberoneaggie When I was in second grade, my teacher had us do a science project with dish detergents. She brought all of her leftover dinner plates (lasagna) and we put them in large ziplock bags. We put a different detergent in each bag and almost instantly the one with dawn started showing pieces of food just floating off the plate. The other ones needed our help shaking the bag or scrubbing with a sponge but the dawn one was the only one that we didn't have to use a sponge on to make the plate look clean. For some reason that has always stuck in my head and to this day I use Dawn almost exclusively. So when I first saw these a few years ago I was skeptical until I saw 'Dawn' written on the front. And sure enough, they live up to my standard for Dawn detergent.
I haven't tried this scent yet, but I just placed my order for it.
I have never had pac not dissolve completely so I was a little confused by the person who's directions included removing the empty pack. I don't know the temperature my water heater is set on but I know it's pretty hot - hot enough to always dissolve the pack.
Also, I always use 2 pacs/load. I have two compartments on my dishwasher - main and prewash - and I put a pack in each and then run the dishwasher. I have tried to only use one but it didn't seem like my tervis tumblers or silverware got cleaned all the way. But with two packs, the dishes are almost always completely clean. I do wipe most of my dishes down with a sponge before putting them in the dishwasher, though.
Based on the amazon.com bulk pricing, this scent is more expensive. It breaks down to 22.5 cents per Cinnamon Apple scent and only 14.8 cents per package of the other scents. That does make this one 50% more expensive and I'm not sure why. I've never seen this scent in the store so I don't know if that means it's not popular or if that means that it is so popular they can't keep it on the shelf. At any rate, 5 packs for a little over $20 is fine with me, especially when it lands right at my doorstep and saves me a trip to the store.

This is a phosphate free productJan 11, 2011
By Aaron I purchased this product specifically because it was listed as containing phosphates, When I got the product is says right on the bag phosphate free. Grrr how am I supposed to get my dishes clean? All this phosphate free stuff creates a nasty white residue on everything. I don't know what else to try. Very frustrated. Do not buy If you want Phosphate clean dishes

Where's my phosphate??Dec 05, 2010
By Tsauce Live in an area where hard water is a big problem. Saw this item had phosphorus in the item description, however, it came to the house phosphate free. A real let down and more scummy cloudy dishes for me. Amazon was very good about returning it.
