5Actually Tastes "Good"!!!Oct 29, 2008
By Gail Erickson "Winkle"
My husband in on chemotherapy and struggles with keeping "the calories coming" and not falling into a weight loss plumit due to the side effects of chemo. Currently, we are "attempting" 3,000 calories/day to try to help him maintain and hopefully gain a little weight! "Yes - Jenny Craig" - gaining weight can also be a challenge under certain circumstances." We have tried several of the high calorie nutrition drinks and so far my husband states that the Carnation 560 calorie actually tastes "good" - and so far he's not so sick of the taste that it's hard to keep him drinking it. (Currently, he has been drinking 3 per day.) Some of the others have tasted more like "medicine", according to this patient's report.

5Wish I still needed it...sort ofDec 27, 2010

Before I was diagnosed with a specific gastrointestinal disorder, I was losing weight very quickly. No appetite, aversion to food, totally weird. Until I finally saw a doctor at the University of Minnesota, everyone else (including other gastroenterologists) said there was nothing wrong. By then, however, I was seeing a nutritionist who said if I lost five more pounds they'd put me in the hospital. Yikes!

She put me on this product and it tasted SO good, I had no trouble drinking it. It truly sustained me until I was properly diagnosed and had gained sufficient weight to be healthy.

5Best Meal Replacement Out ThereAug 11, 2010
By Seth Wheatley
I have been using this product for the past 4 months due to an illness I'm recovering from that does not allow me to eat solid foods yet. drinking 4 cans a day (2,052 Calories) has kept my weight stable.

Taste is good and the benefits are even better.

4Lots of calories not tasteMar 30, 2011

The shakes have been helpful in my weight gain. They pack a lot of calories but aren't filling so I can eat a meal and drink one. They are lacking in taste but aren't as bad as other shakes I've tried.

4Like Vanilla Cake BatterAug 17, 2010
By J. Pilbeam
Good stuff, pretty thick & rich but that should be expected being 560 calories in a single serving. It is too much for my son to drink in one sitting, (he is not quite 10 years old & suffers from Chron's) so we have him sip on it over the course of the day. My wife recently began adding it to gluten free pancake mix & that is much easier for him. Our goal it to get about 1,000 to 1,500 calories in him a day & this has really helped.
