I am seriously considering starting a petition to bring back the old recipe! I'm glad so many reviewers here agree with me :) The new recipe is sub-par in comparison. If you purchase from Amazon you not receive the one pictured. You will receive the "new improved" recipe, which as you can read from other reviewers, isn't so "improved".

Wedding Soup is definitely one of my favorite soups and campbells use to be the one canned wedding soup i use to buy...until they changed it. I get that they want to provide for people who want to consume less sodium but to totally do away with their regular wedding soup is disappointing. I miss the old flavor and everything about it this one is just too different if you like the original you know what im taking about. I hope they bring it back one of these days until then I guess I have to settle for this one or just stick to making my own. Why mess with a good thing?

The original version of this soup was my FAVORITE. I'm so sad they changed it and came to amazon in the hopes that they would still have stock of the original. The image is of the original, but the product is the new recipe which is just boring in comparison. The changed the pasta and I dont know what else but it is no longer my favorite. So now I have a whole case of the new, gross version. I will continue on my quest.

I was going to order these but luckily I read the comments that say they will not send the items as shown in the display. They send the new version of the soup. This is what I just sent to Campbells on their website.
"I LOVED Italian Wedding soup...the original. Then you changed it to the Select Harvest, it tasted a little different. I quickly became used to it. I even have my Grandkids loving it. Now you have changed the ingredients again and not for the better. It is not good....less fat, more salt = less flavor. It now looks more creamy, the prior recipe was more broth like. In my head broth is healthier than cream. And where is that wonderful tiny little acini di pepe pasta. These big hunkin noodles don't work for me. I'm so disappointed!!!"

But recently the entire recipe was changed! Why? Now it looks and tastes...like the competition. Before, there was no competition.
This product description shows what the soup USED to look like.
Now, there is a different, larger pasta noodle...not as good
The meatballs are made differently, not as tasty and are smaller...
Carrots were added which isn't bad, but can't saved the new soup!
The broth flavor...
Everything...
Was Changed!
I used to buy cases of this soup, especially for the winter...
Why oh why was this great soup changed? I sure hope they realize they lost customers (me!) in doing so...
