Where Cream of Mushroom ShinesAug 07, 2009
By D. Mikels
"It's always Happy Hour here"
Certainly, CAMPBELL'S CREAM OF MUSHROOM soup is excellent in a wide variety of dishes and recipes, but this, ladies and gentlemen, THIS is where CAMPBELL'S CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP totally shines:
*Take one baking pan. *Pour in one 10.75-ounce can of CAMPBELL'S CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP *Pour in one 10.75-ounce can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup *Use one of the cans to add 2 1/2 cans of 2% lowfat milk *Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth *Add 6 chicken thighs (or 4 chicken breasts) *Add a pinch of McCormick Onion Salt *Sprinkle McCormick Black Pepper liberally over entire pan *Bake at 385 degrees
*After approximately 20 minutes turn chicken over *After approximately 15 minutes turn chicken again *Add Minute White Rice sufficient to absorb the sauce *Bake for approximately 20 more minutes (ovens do vary, but do not remove until chicken is thoroughly cooked)
This is a delicious dish, the chicken and rice being thoroughly enhanced by CAMPBELL'S CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP. Bon appetit! --D. Mikels, Esq.

Easy meals!Jan 18, 2011
By Discursive Boojum I joke a lot about this stuff, and about the sheer number of people I've known personally who all came up with the "easiest recipe ever". That recipe being some sort of protein, some sort of vegetable, instant rice and this soup baked all together. But the truth is, it does make really easy meals, and I don't think I've ever eaten it as a soup. It's a mix in, to help keep food moist and add flavor. It comes out of the can in a big gelatinous mess and glops over what you're cooking it with. You might need to add a half can or full can of hot water to help it break down a bit more. It's salty, but not too salty when you mix it into something else. Just make sure you taste before adding more salt.

Better price, delivered to the doorMar 04, 2009
By Charlotte A. Hu It's hard to believe that not only can my old favorite Campbell soups be delivered to my doorstep, but that it's even cheaper than buying it from the local store. This is a wonderful new world.

It's the red & white can we all knowOct 06, 2009

Campbell's may not be a fancy gourmet brand, but everyone knows what they're getting when they buy it- no surprises. Cream of Mushroom soup is a staple in alot of my recipes and I'm not willing to experiment with other brands. Everyone is probably familiar with the contents of the can; I'll talk about the packaging. The cans were delivered in a shrink-wrapped cube of two 24-can cardboard trays- inside an Amazon box, of course. Your delivery man may not appreciate your order- it's not light. This is the small can size- I wish they offered the family size cans or larger sizes. If your recipe requires ALOT of cream of mushroom you will be opening alot of cans. These are the pop-tops, but that is still alot of scraping. Buying this on the subscription plan is a fantastic deal- if you need it I highly recommend it!
Great soup, lousy canFeb 08, 2012

What can I say, it's Campbell's Mushroom soup, the standard for sauces. However, I really, really despise the pop-top cans! They get in the way getting soup out. They cut up my spatulas. Who complained about needing a can opener? I like can openers! This is not survival food. Please bring back the old cans!
