Beef-N-Blah SlopApr 24, 2010

Campbells certainly has its moments, but this ain't one of 'em! This soup's got beef...it's got barley...what could possibly go wrong? Let me tell you...instead of including some onions and bell peppers...maybe some garlic, they decided to throw in a shipload of their hideous minestrone-type vegetables. The beef was overcooked, dry, and nearly tasteless. You can't even taste the barley, through the flavor of old, canned carrots. The only reason I didn't give this swill one star, is that there is undoubtedly some nutritional value to it...'caveat emptor'.
I eat it all the time.May 14, 2012
By Mr Goodwrench This is my favorite Campbell's Chunky soup. I eat it all the time and have it on subscribe and save. I tried Progresso beef barley, and frankly found it very bland and cancelled the subscription after one shipment. I only ordered the Progresso because I couldn't locate the Campbell soup on Amazon at the time. I normally like Progresso soup, but far prefer Campbell's Chunky beef barley. One reviewer commented that you cannot taste the barley. Really? What I love about this soup is that there is SO MUCH BARLEY. It's so thick that it's hard to get it to come out of the can. By far my favorite canned soup, but you had better like barley soups, because there is a lot of it in there.
Good Lunch OptionNov 09, 2011
By Kelly S. Zimmerman I eat this for lunch every so often when I don't have a home cooked meal from leftovers. It's good. I like the overall taste. It does have a lot of carrots but I like that. I'm not a big fan of peppers so I like that this doesn't have any. The beef is ok but it's canned soup. Not sure what some people expect....it's not restaurant food. It is very good warmed up at work!
