Missed The Mark for PancakesFeb 01, 2010

When mixing the pancakes, I notices there were fewer blueberries than the store bought mixes. I tasted the batter, which was very salty. for my taste in food. After the first pancake was baked, I tasted the just the pancake, which was also very salty and very little blueberry taste.

I agree with the other reviewer. I was looking forward to some good blueberry pancakes as the family loves to go to specialty restaurants for a good breakfast, but was very disappointed in the taste of this batter. There was so little blueberry taste that you almost didn't know it was blueberry except for the few small blue bits in the batter. I rely on feedback before I purchase, but this didn't have any at the time so I decided to give it a chance since it was on sale...mistake! My family loves pancakes, but only ate a couple of these and haven't asked for me to make more. I will be giving the other three bags to the foodbank.

So-so pancakes with a heavy, bready flavor. Very salty. Includes tiny blue dots which add almost no blueberry flavor. Mixes from the grocery store are better and far cheaper, plus they come in an easy-open box instead of a cutesy sewn-up bag.

The pancakes were good according to all family members. Four bags of mix for the price was decent value. I prefer pancakes with less corn meal, but these are still pretty good. They were fluffy and not too heavy. There are hardly any blueberries in the mix though. I'd give a fourth star for more blueberries and a fifth if I liked corn meal. I'd still recommend.
