4Yum!!Feb 10, 2009
By Loverofsunflowers "Sunflower"
I gave this four stars because the price here is a little steep...but overall the taste is really really delicious, easy and fast to make. im in college right now so i dont have very much time to spend cooking meals, (im not good at cooking anyway, so this is convienet). everything you need is in the box, all i needed to make this was water. two bowls and two glasses of water filled me up, so im happy to have left overs tomorrow.

Definately worth a try!

5Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Nov 01, 2010

Getting up into my 60's, making dinner for my husband and I is a chore now and I try to find easy. This product is just like when I used to make chicken and bisquits with gravy. My husband never ate them, only my children, now grown. I made this as it was so simple and we already loved the cheesy potatoes and ham, so I tried this, and my husband ate nearly the entire thing! It is once again in the oven, he loves it and so do I and it is simple and quick! Give it a try, you'll love it too!!

These are great to have on the shelf for any time, and I especially like the fact they don't require refrigeration so are great to use in emergency situations. Thay taste good too!

Where is the Banquet Homestyle Bakes Lasagna? The lasagna is the best boxed dinner. I can only find it at Winn Dixie and Rouses.

4It's good - not great, really easy!Jan 12, 2012

I don't usually like "food in a box" at all - this isn't bad for food in a box. It's mashed potatoes, white pepper gravy, biscuits, and little pieces of chicken - in an 8x8 baking dish. It could certainly be made cheaper (and tastier) from scratch but not with the same convenience, time, and no mess.

I only got one extra bowl dirty, that's a huge plus. No mess. 10 minutes tops to get it in the oven with nothing complicated to do. Add water to potatoes in the 8x8, stir, pour can of gravy over it. Add water to biscuit mix, stir, spoon over gravy. Baked for 35 mins, set for 5 mins, and ate. Pretty simple.

The taste is rich and savory. Nothing too overpowering except maybe the salt. Then again, we aren't salt eaters. The combination of heavy starches (biscuits plus potatoes) makes it very filling. Two of us finished just under half of it. Since we don't usually eat leftovers, that raises the cost per serving. We're not big meat eaters either but this was more than a little skimpy on the meat - a can of chicken and some veggies might make it very good indeed.

Pros: very-very easy, filling, tastes reasonably good, no mess [a new cook can't go wrong here]
Cons: costly compared to scratch, doesn't taste "great", not enough meat, too much food for 2-3 people.
