The "Good Enough Pencil"Aug 12, 2008

Anyone who has ever used a Bic product knows one thing: They create cheap "good enough" products. These pencils are no exception. I personally like them for their simple pencil look that does away with all of the huge, fat, and oddshaped designs that seem to be the rage in the mechanical pencil world. They're no frills and you can't really go wrong with these things for the price.
The eraser on this is nothing to write home about, but it works. The grips are nothing special, but they do the job. And the barrels can crack if you're not careful(especially on clear plastic bics), but for the price they're very good. The reason why these pencils get 4/5 starts instead of 5/5 stars is something I've experienced with a bunch of Bics over the years that I don't find in other higher quality pencils. If you press down hard on the tip, even unused lead sticks have an annoying habit of sliding back into the barrel. So, if you write with lighter strokes, then these pencils will be fantastic for you. If however, you tend to seriously put pencil-to-paper, then I suggest getting a more robust pencils.

Great value, useful!Dec 24, 2008
By Nikhil Sheth These are great! I bought these sophomore year of college and haven't run out of pencils yet, despite losing a bunch. (And...I'm a senior math major, so I use pencils all the time)
The bulk option is definitely the way to go.
