A highlight of highlightersOct 02, 2007
By Charles Evans
"Call me Kevin"
Ok, please forgive the stupid pun for the title. However, I do feel that the BIC Z4 higlighters do a very good job.
Pros-
- Nice life...some highlighters seem to run out of ink within days of your first use. These BICS do a nice job of having an extended life. - The do not bleed though standard paper. Nothing is more annoying than having a highlighter or pen bleed through the page. No fear here- all highlights stay on the page that you intended! - Goes on and stays bright - no dulling a few weeks later. - Window to show you how much fluid/ink that remains. Old highlighters with cartidges tended to fade toward the end of their life. The BIC Z4 are consistent from the begining to the very end. - Not cheap - but still a nice value.
Cons- - Only one color - I have been known to use different color highlighters to emphasize importance. I think this may be more of a personal problem than an issue with the highlighters but it is worth mentioning.
Overall - I feel that the BIC Z4's are basically the Cadilac of the highlighter world! Use with confidence!

Bic Z4 Brite Liner best for not leeching.Mar 06, 2006
By Travis Lee Cagle As a legal student I do a lot of highlighting on pages that are very thin. The Bic Z4 is the best highlighter that I have found for not leeching through to the next page. I don't use any other brand. I admit that it is a little wet when first applied, but it only smears if you run your hand across it. I have never found that it is necessary to wait to turn the page for fear of smudging.

Best Highlighter So FarNov 12, 2008
By Reader/Dog Lover In my quest for the best highlighter this is the one I have come up with. It is wet, yes, but in answer to one reviewer's negative comment, you don't have to highlight with it so hard and if you use a light touch, which you can since the ink is so fluid, it will not bleed through to the next page. (One caveat is if you are marking a book with thing paper, like the books published by The Library of America. They have "Bible type paper," very thin, and all of the markers that I have used on that paper bleed through, and particularly the "wet" Bic.) The Bic produces a good, bright color, is nice to hold (there is a rubberized area for your fingers which does not protrude too much, the chiseled tip allows you to be accurate in your highlighting (beginning and stopping the highlighting where you want) and perhaps most of all you can see how much ink is left so you aren't left high and "dry" without a replacement. All in all this is a great tool if you are like me and highlighting has become part of your reading routine. I was shopping for some today in Bangkok and discovered that at least here the marker that I am reviewing has been replaced by a new model and one which I feel is inferior. You cannot see the ink inside the barrel or with great difficulty, and the part that you hold has now been enlarged and replaced by an uglier one; and finally, the removal and replacement of the cap on the new one is no longer a one-hand job as on the old one--the fit is way too tight and you now nearly always have to use two hands. Bic: please don't over design for commercial purposes, if that is what was done, and stick with what is good and works so well.

Brite and wetJan 12, 2006
By Priya Bawa

I got the BIC Z4 Brite Liner as a bonus when I bought a package of BIC's regular brite liner. I primarily use highlighters in my textbooks. This highlighter sure does what the name intends-it sure is bright! I like highlighters that are bright and don't look faded . However, I found it to be too wet. It would not dry right away and would smudge on the page. The highlighted area would crinkle a bit because it was so wet and I could see it on the back of the page as well. I don't think I would buy this highlighter again. It's too messy and I don't like having to wait until the page is dry before I can turn it over.

The best Bible highlighter!Apr 19, 2006
By A.Buuren I bought and tested A LOT of highlighters out in the market and found the Bic Z4 to be the current best for highlighting thin pages. But there are room for LOTS of improvements!
Positives:
- Will not bleed through to the back page on really thin Bible paper!!!
- Bright colors compared to "Bible highlighters" found in Christian bookstores.
Negatives:
- The supply will run out quickly because...
- of its wet consistency.
- expensive!
I hope a competitor will make a comparable or superior product.
