Hot and tangy. Really great flavor.Jul 30, 2006
By dough Think of the little jar of hot pepper paste that your favorite dim sum or chinese food restaurant serves. Now put it in a convenient squeeze tube, and keep it in your frig. Tastes great, and easy to store use. I find myself putting it on everything.

This makes the absolute best chili!Apr 10, 2011
By Pamela J. Sharp We purchased the hot pepper paste just to try it. After one taste, I knew that it would be great in our homemade chili. Instead of cutting up 10 to 12 chili peppers and reducing them in olive oil, we just put in one tube of the hot pepper paste, along with our other liquid ingredients (plus the meat), and it made the absolute best tasting chili I have ever tasted! We seldom make chili because it is so labor-intensive, but with this paste - we make it in no time, and now we can enjoy it more frequently. A little dab goes a long way in making pasta sauce more zingy, and we have found about 40 other uses for this product. I cannot recommend it more highly than by saying that you MUST try this awesome paste!

Tasty but saltyNov 18, 2010
By Michael G. Lustig The taste is good and not too hot. My only problem is the sodium in 1 tsp is 260mg or 11% of the daily allowance. A sodium-free product would be much better IMHO. This product is really salty on the palate.
If you mix it with Pomi Chopped Tomatoes, 26.46 Ounce Tetra Pack (Pack of 12) and garlic, you get a good Arrabiata sauce.
This is about half as hot as Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce Huy Fong 17 Oz.
Great Italian flavor that brings the heat.Feb 10, 2012
By Jazz Art Design This pepper paste is almost identical to GIA which also comes in a similar tube. I love the flavor, it's like spicy pepperoni without the meat. It's salty as well, and it's a great addition to a lot of sauces and italian dishes. I use it in pasta sauces, pizza sauces, and as a pizza topping. I put it in little dabs all over the pizza. Combine that with some prosciutto or pepperoni and it's amazing. I also put it on crackers and bread and mix with olive oil and other tapas/appetizer type stuff.
I was a little worried when I ordered this that it would be more Asian style pepper paste because a couple of reviewers that characterized it as tangy and similar to Asian pepper pastes. I think that the only thing in common is they are both fairly hot and spicy. Asian pepper pastes and sauces tend to be very tangy and sweet and sour/acidic. This in contrast, is not very tangy or acidic, and definitely not sweet. It's spicy and salty.

Love this - great taste!Feb 22, 2010
By LHK Bought this on a lark when I was ordering tomato paste, but we absolutely love it. We like sauces with some heat, and this makes a plain tomato sauce into a great arrabiata.
