Alessi Savoiardi, Lady Fingers, 7-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12)
Savoiadi, Commonly known as Lady Fingers, are delightful and delicately light cookies from Italy that have been enjoyed by Italians for generations. Eaten as a snack alongside a glass of milk, children love their simple goodness. Adults too, enjoy nibbling on them between sips of espresso or cappuccino. The Italians have invented wondrous desserts using them in creations like "Tiramisu". Tiramisu is an Italian delight that has of late become a most fashionable dessert. It's origins have been traced back to Siena where it had been called "Zuppa Del Duca" or "The Duke's Soup". The dessert became very popular in Florence in the nineteenth century where the English people, who lived in the town renamed it "Zuppa Inglese" or "English Soup". The dessert has several variations and has always enjoyed great popularity over the years regardless of the name. Made with mascarpone cheese, delicate Lady Fingers and laced with strong espresso coffee, "Tiramisu" literally translates to "Pick me up" which refers to the inevitable energizing boost this dessert will provide.

2nd time purchasing 12 packJan 17, 2013

My girlfriend makes a mouthwatering Tiramisu. We have purchased these same Lady Fingers for the 2nd time. Excellent value, no need to wait for seasonal sales in retail stores and they stay fresh for a long time.

Better than shopping in storesJan 09, 2007

I can now make all the Tiramisu I want plus all the low carb variations that are out there. Specialty items like this are hard to find in country stores where I live so I keep them in the freezer and escape to Italy anytime I want. I love this product being on Amazon and the free shipping was the "icing" on the lady finger!!

Awesome!Nov 11, 2013
Unlike everyone here, I do not use these to make Tiramisu. Maybe one day. I have them with coffee every morning for breakfast.
They are always fresh and very tasty! :D I'm addicted to these now. Maybe one day I'll try my hand at Tiramisu, but for now, I'm good.
These lady fingers went into the compostApr 06, 2015

I love European treats, and I'm not a finicky eater - nor are my wife and kids. We all tried these, they looked fabulous. Our family rating system reads as follows:
- yes, more!
- great on occasion
- not a favorite
- no thank you
For these lady fingers, we added a new one:
- throw them away immediately, and don't every buy them again!
I don't mind dry. I don't mind crumbly. I don't mind messy. I do mind the chemical taste and so did the rest of the family. I couldn't induce anyone to eat more, not even with hot chocolate. I'm not picky, and I don't waste food. These lady fingers went into the compost, and that is an absolute first for our family.
Just right for tiramisuFeb 26, 2013

Like many others, I bought these because my local store doesn't carry hard lady fingers and because they're a good value compared to some others offered here.
These cookies have a light, pleasant taste and texture on their own, and they hold up well to the flavors used in tiramisu. And again, these are the hard kind, which are the ones you need for a good tiramisu, unless you prefer your tiramisu mushy.
