Quick and deliciousJan 11, 2007

Like most ACT II popcorn, this is great snack food. The bonus of having it come in a tub is that I don't end up with that gunk on the back of my hands from reaching into the bag. The downside is that the tubs take up more room--not real convenient to slip into a briefcase or purse to carry to work. Still, I highly recommend it.

Act II Popcorn/Movie Theatre Pop 'n Serve Tub: Food Review
Grade: B
I've always been a popcorn fan--nothing beats sitting down to a good movie with a bowl of popcorn--so I was pleasantly delighted to hear about this one. Although Act II's popcorn hasn't been a favorite of mine, they found their niche with this one.
Most likely designed for people who love the feel of the popcorn bowl they have at the movies--or people who just don't like to wash the popcorn bowl after a movie at home,--the Pop 'n Serve bowl has its problems, but its pros outweigh the cons.
The popcorn is good and buttery, once again just like the popcorn they serve at the movies, which I did love, since I don't go to the movies that often. The bowl is just the right size to hold in your lap too--you just pop the bowl into the microwave (the popcorn bag is on the bottom of the bowl) and--for a little bit longer time than a normal bag--it's ready.
The things I didn't like though were the facts that these things aren't very portable, and the butter. The butter leaks through the cardboard tub, and gets on the microwave bottom, and even soaks through the bottom of the tub sometimes. There is a lot of butter though--just clean off the bottom of the bowl before you sit down with it--so the popcorn still tastes nice and buttery.
Either way--difficulties aside--this tub of popcorn is something I'm glad didn't just stay on the drawing board. Although it isn't really widely known, since they don't sell it at big chain stores like Ralphs and Stater Bros., you can get these at video rental stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Then just curl up with one of these and put on a movie--just like in the theaters!

Great way to snack on popcorn!Oct 09, 2007
By T. Gindl My family and I thought the microwave popcorn bucket concept was great. It is enough for the whole family. The only thing you have to be careful about is to read the directions regarding how many watts your microwave needs to be. We had to reduce the cooking time because we burned a couple of buckets.
