4Better second time aroundSep 06, 2010

A while back I was looking for a citrus-type marinade for chicken to replace the Lawry's that has been discontinued.
The only thing I could find that had the word citrus in it was the 7up marinade.
I have had the misfortune, as have many others, of getting hooked on something only to have it discontinued.
So I decided to order a six pack in case I really liked it.
We marinated some chicken breasts with it and threw them on the BBQ.
We were less than pleased with the result.......of course, I was missing the Lawry's so my expectations were high.
Fast forward a few months.....
We were going to BBQ kabobs with chicken, onion, bell pepper, zucchini and mushrooms.
I looked through my pantry for something to brush on them.
There was a bottle of the 7up marinade.
I decided to give it another try.
Oh my gosh, what a pleasant surprise!
I don't know if it was the vegetable juices with the 7up or what but we loved it.
That was 2 weeks ago and we just had the same dinner again tonight.
Give it another try.

Brought a single bottle from another online store. Thank God I did not buy a whole 6 pack here. This tastes horrible. It almost tastes like some type of lemon medicine. Smells a bit nauseating too. I did not try it on food. I poured a little out and tasted it. Yuck. I thought maybe it was just me, so I let a friend try it. She made the same face like me. She agreed that it was horrible. I have no idea why 7 Up can't make a tasty mariande with their formula. It should be simple.
Maybe it can taste better on food, I don't know. I doubt I'll want to waste my time finding out. If I do, and it tastes good, I will change my review. But from tasting it out of the bottle, I say, don't buy it!
