Best darn granola on the planet.Dec 17, 2009

This stuff is addictive, I'll warn you. I started purchasing this as a personal treat, but my boyfriend gobbles it down like it's a staple food. It's expensive, though. In San Francisco the price ranges from $9 to $12 per bag, but I was happy to find that Amazon's 3-pack costs only $7 per bag. Score!
I think the cocoa nibs and hazelnuts are what make this granola amazing, though to be honest the fat content probably doesn't hurt. There are 11 grams of fat in a half-cup, but when sprinkled over plain yogurt, the guilt melts away.
Lowest Carb Granola I could find! Great tasting too!Aug 22, 2011

18 Rabbits granola, where have you been my whole life!! This stuff is great! Nice well rounded flavor, chewy texture (not too crunchy like some), and not too sweet (like many). It is hard to find a granola that is not full of sugar and other processed ingredients. I read the labels like crazy. I recently adopted a diet low in carbohydrates and this granola has the lowest I could find. It is amazing at only 22 grams for a half cup serving (including 4 grams of fiber)! Most labels I have read list about that many grams for only a quarter cup serving! I have tried all three flavors by 18 rabbits and this is my second favorite. The Gracious(blue package) is my favorite and the Felicitas (pink package) I will not buy again since I found the cherries to be super hard and not at all tasty. This granola is local to us here in San Francisco, made in small batches, and very expensive. I like that I save a few bucks on amazon subscribe and save!
So, to round up my review if you are looking for a granola with WHOLE ingredients (just read the list) and not a lot of over processed sweetener this is the one for you!

A well-balanced, tasty granolaMar 14, 2011
By Matthew J. Eitelberg It's difficult to find a granola that isn't overly sweet or loaded with added sugar. Many companies add significant amounts of sugar to their granola, leading to a product that derives one-third to one-half of its carbohydrate content from sugar. No doubt that creates a tastier granola. But alas, it also undercuts some of the health benefits of whole grains, and leads to a sugar crash later.
Overall, the granola is perfectly balanced. The oats are crispy, and the walnuts and hazelnuts add a nice toasty background flavor. One of my worries was that the cacao nibs would make for a discordant flavor in the granola. But, the cacao is judiciously apportioned throughout, and it is not so much a distraction as it is an unexpected (and welcome) flavor contrast. Perhaps most importantly, the granola actually resembles the product from which it is derived - namely oats. Many other granolas take on a processed appearance, and are often difficult to even associate with oats and nuts.
It is an expensive granola, at least compared to some of the competition. But in terms of quality, it ranks up there among the best. On balance, to me anyways, for what you get in quality is worth the cost.
Expensive but tasty - wish it arrived fresher thoughApr 26, 2010
By Jane Manning Update: the last batch I ordered of this contained 3 bags that expire in 4 months (almost but not quite as fresh as I get from the supermarket), and 3 bags that expire in less than 2 months (much less fresh than the supermarket, and not so great when you're buying in bulk online). So I've lowered my rating to 3 stars accordingly. I'll keep buying this granola, but I'm not sure I'll be ordering it from amazon anymore.

I used to make homemade granola regularly, but my family likes this granola as much as my homemade, which I can't say for any of the other types we've tried (and we've tried many - most are too sweet for us). I feel ridiculous spending this much money on granola, and I guess someday I should go back to making it, but this stuff is awfully good.
